Style Inspiration: Dexter and Dee Dee

It’s been over a year since my last post and to start things back off I’m going to take inspiration from the great cartoon Dexter’s Laboratory. Here is my interpretation of Dexter and Dee:

Style Inspiration: Lisa and Maggie Simpson

For this post I’ve decided to carry on the theme of The Simpsons. The next two characters I’m going to be using are Lisa and Maggie (as you may have guessed from the title). It’s a big rainy where I live at the moment so the outfits I put together are going to be perfect for sun showers.

I decided to add a little edge to Lisa’s look and change her slightly orange dress to a deep red colour. Her signature pearls have also been replaced by a chain of skulls.

Maggie Simpson

Maggie’s look is obviously a bit more grown-up than her onesie. But I tried to keep a cute feel to the outfit.

Style Inspiration: Homer and Bart Simpson

Homer Simpson

Todays outfit post is based on the father and son duo, Homer and Bart Simpson. They both have pretty plain so todays outfits are laid back and perfect for the summer.

Style Inspiration: Marge Simpson

It’s been an awful long time since I last posted on this blog, and I miss the fun I used to have putting outfits together! After this week I’m going to have a lot more free time on my hands so now seems like the perfect time to start posting again. I was going to wait until the weekend to make a post but then I realised that I never got around to using Marge Simpson as inspiration and I couldn’t wait.

 Marge Simpson

The dress is a bit shorter than Marge’s which is mainly because I thought the dress above was too funky to not include. The shoes are a simple yet sweet pair of court shoes and the necklace is a bit more edgier than Marge’s red pearls. I also included a bit of blue chalk for those that feel like taking this outfit the to the next level.Link to items: Dress, Necklace, Shoes, Hair Chalk.

Style Inspiration: The Thornberry Sisters

It’s been a while since my last style inspiration post. To make up for that I’ve done a double post based on Eliza and Debbie Thornberry. Two very cool sisters with two very different tastes…

I’ve updated Eliza’s look to give it a more grown up explorers feel! It’s the sort of outfit I love because it’s comfy and cool.

Debbie’s outfit has more of a rebellious feel to it but it still encompasses the same laid back vibes as Eliza.

Style Inspiration: Susie Carmichael

A few weeks ago I did a style inspiration post on Angelica from the Rugrats. Today my post is about the girls she sees as a rival and later on as a friend, the lovely Susie Carmichael.

The main thing that stands out about her outfit are flowers! I was unable to find a yellow dress with purple flowers on that looks as nice as Susie’s, so I instead opted for the lovely dress below. This mean that her signature purple tights were also replaced, but with a colour that’s just as funky, red.

To top the outfit off are a pair of her signature red shoes and a floral headband that pays homage to her flowery bobbles.

Style Inspiration: Velma Dinkley

Velma Dinkley

Jinkies! It’s time for another style inspiration. Today my inspiration is Velma from Scooby -Doo.
It takes a certain kind of person to pull of a head to toe outfit of orange and  red (hair included).  And I think its  safe to say I’m definitely not one of them. Which is why I would probably only wear this outfit as fancy dress. It makes me sad to say I’d only wear it as fancy dress because in my style inspirations I always try to make the outfits ones that I would actually wear.

But after two months of trying to find the perfect everyday Velma outfit, I decided to settle with the one below, because I think the top is perfect!

What do you think of this outfit,is it jinkies good or jinkies bad?

Style Inspiration: As Told By Ginger

Todays style inspiration comes from Ginger Foutley who in my opinion is one of the coolest tv characters ever; especially since she didn’t always wear the same outfit. And because of this, I’m going to put a modern twist on two of her outfits. With the first outfit based on the picture above!

I tried to create a more mature version of the outfit while still maintaining how comfortable and fun it looks! And I think I’ve achieved it with the help of silk trousers and a super cute cropped shirt.
This next look is a more formal look that also encompasses cute vibes!

Style Inspiration: Amelia Earhart

Amelia Earhartis best known for the records she set in the world of aviation before her disappearance in 1937 in an attempt to fly around the world.

Born in Kansas in 1897 she became well-known because she excelled in her field and dared to break out of the traditional role of women at the time.

She serves as an inspiration to many young women today as she proves that you shouldnt let society’s expectations get in the way of your dreams.

This is why I’ve chosen her as a style inspiration and hopefully while wearing this aviation inspired outfit you’ll be reminded of Amelia and all that you can achieve!

Style Inspiration: Tommy Pickles

For a while I’ve been trying to find the perfect items to create a Tommy Pickles style inspiration post. And after weeks of searching the perfect top appeared in Topshop; which meant that this post could finally be created! So here it is…

Tommy Pickles

I fell in  love with this top the  moment I saw it and when teamed with  a pair of super cute shorts and some funky flatforms,  it’s the perfect ode to Tommy!
