Customised: Denim Waistcoat Collar

This cheeky little bit of customisation was easy to do. The only thing it required was a little bit of patience…

What I Used

  • Different coloured thread
  • A sewing needle
  • Scissors

How I Did It

  1. I began by drawing my desired pattern on to the waistcoat.
  2. I then sewed the outline of the triangles.
  3. Then to fill in the pattern, and create the messy looked I desired, I went a little wild and didn’t conform my sewing to neat lines.

Cool Alterations That Could Be Done

  1. If you don’t want a messy looking pattern then you could always take your time and carefully sew neatly or even use a sewing machine (or an embroidery machine if your lucky enough to have one) to save time!
  2. Sew beads/buttons/studs into the pattern to add a tad more funkiness and further add personality.
  3. Instead of embroidering your favoured pattern on you could cut out some fabric into the shapes and sew them on. Or you could even super glue them instead!
